About Vanessa
Meet Vanessa, a creative and passionate mental health counseling intern dedicated to fostering meaningful growth and self-discovery. She believes therapy is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves, and that healing begins when we feel truly seen, heard, and supported.
With warmth, empathy, and respect, Vanessa creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their inner worlds, face challenges head-on, and embrace authentic self-expression. Drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities, she tailors her approach to each individual, blending evidence-based practices with intuitive and creative tools. Her work is deeply informed by her background in the performing arts, which brings a unique perspective when supporting artists navigating the pressures and vulnerabilities of the entertainment industry.
Vanessa has a special interest in trauma-focused care and is pursuing ongoing training in EMDR and movement-based therapeutic techniques. Her intimate understanding of trauma and emotional abuse shapes her compassionate approach and commitment to helping clients build self-compassion, resilience, and clarity in their lives.
She is currently earning her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Hunter College. Vanessa’s academic journey began in Dance Performance and Musical Theater at Oklahoma City University and NYU, and she later earned her Bachelor of Performing Arts degree from Saint Mary’s College of California through the LEAP program for professional dancers.
When working with Vanessa, clients can expect a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship that celebrates their strengths, honors their unique experiences, and provides tools to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and authenticity.
