Support Group for Performers Navigating Change
Making the decision to reshape your career as a performer comes with a unique set of challenges. This group will provide support and connection for performers in the process of making a career shift, whether that means leaving the world of performance or finding a different balance. It will provide a space for creatives to honor their art while navigating these changes.
We welcome all types of creatives (actors, singers, dancers, comics, musicians, choreographers, stage managers, visual artists, etc.) who are at any stage of the career change process, including anyone exploring the idea or those who have taken steps to move in a new direction. This group is open to individuals aged 25 and over. All gender identities are welcome.
We will meet once a week for 8 weeks. Group members will help to shape the focus of each week’s session.
Some themes we will explore throughout our time together include:
-
Emotional support through the career change process
-
Making space for creative work in non-traditional ways
-
Adapting to changing identity
-
Reshaping personal and professional priorities
-
Reframing how we think about our art
-
Managing anxiety related to financial stress and having multiple jobs
