About Anamiika
Meet Anamiika Rahman, LMHC, a trauma-informed psychotherapist with over five years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She believes therapy is most effective when clients feel genuinely understood, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.
Anamiika's approach is grounded in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), an attachment-based model she further developed through completing AEDP Immersion Course. She integrates AEDP with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and relational, trauma-informed care to help clients move beyond symptom management toward deeper emotional healing and self-understanding.
She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, career transitions, and the lasting effects of trauma. Many of her clients come to therapy feeling caught between what they truly value and what their inner critic tells them they should do. Together, they work toward building greater self-compassion, healthier relationships, and a life guided by personal values rather than fear or self-doubt. As a South Asian immigrant and former adjunct lecturer for the CUNY course Psychology of Immigration and Acculturation, Anamiika also brings an appreciation for the ways culture, family expectations, identity, and immigration experiences can shape emotional well-being and relationships.
Above all, Anamiika views therapy as a collaborative process. She strives to create a warm, culturally responsive space where clients feel safe exploring difficult emotions, making sense of their experiences, and moving toward lasting emotional well-being.
